Kathy Kilgore received her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.  Upon graduation, she completed a small animal internship focusing on medicine, surgery, and neurology at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Florida.  She joined the UF/IFAS Tropical Aquaculture Laboratory (TAL) as a post-doctoral veterinarian in August 2005.  Since completing her post-doc position in August 2007, Kathy has become a research veterinarian here at TAL, coordinating several Investigational New Animal Drug (INAD) projects for the ornamental aquaculture industry and well as spear-heading other research projects at the lab.
